Are Energy Drinks Good For You??


Energy drinks are very popular with the teens and the college set nowadays. With highly suggestive names like Red Bull, Rock Star, Monsters or Amp, it has sky rocketed in the market. However, are these drinks good for the health, or are they just some kind of anti-drug? In this article, Energy in a Pinch: The Facts on Energy Drinks, it talks about the pros and cons about the energy drinks. This article also mentioned that energy drinks are not new to the world. It has been here for quite a long time. The article states, "Researchers point back to 1905 when Scotland produced a type of energy drink called Irn-Bru. Later in the century, Japanese businessmen were known to consume "genki drinks," which means healthy drinks, to keep them alert during the long hours when driving home. With the energy drinks today, it contains caffeine, vitamin B, and herbal ingredients; mostly sugar though. Researches warned people to not confuse the energy drinks with other drinks like Gatorade. In some other countries, like France, Red Bull has been banned due to sport related health problems. The drinks may help in a pinch, but are not as healthful as natural food and drink alternatives.
